This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to take ownership of complex industrial projects, from bid through closeout, in a stable and growing market. You'll be the central point of coordination, ensuring projects are delivered safely, profitably, and to exacting technical standards.
About the Role:
As the Electrical Project Manager, you will oversee all phases of electrical construction for water and wastewater treatment facilities, combining field oversight with office-based project controls. You will manage budgets, schedules, and resources while driving alignment between field crews, general contractors, and owners. Your decisions will directly influence project profitability, client satisfaction, and the company's reputation in the Florida water/wastewater sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead electrical construction projects for water and wastewater facilities from pre-construction through commissioning and closeout.
- Prepare detailed estimates and competitive bids, including quantity take-offs, labor and material pricing, and proposal documentation.
- Develop and present project proposals, scopes of work, and clarifications to general contractors and owners.
- Plan and manage project schedules, coordinating manpower, materials, and subcontractors to meet milestones.
- Oversee purchasing and procurement of electrical materials and equipment, ensuring timely delivery and cost control.
- Direct, support, and evaluate field personnel, including foremen and electricians, to maintain productivity, quality, and safety.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with general contractors, owners, and other stakeholders, addressing issues, changes, and progress updates.
- Monitor project performance, including costs, productivity, and quality metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Key Requirements:
- 10+ years of water/wastewater industrial construction experience.
- 5+ years of supervisory experience managing field personnel in an electrical construction environment.
- Strong electrical construction background within industrial or heavy civil projects.
- Proven experience preparing estimates and bids for electrical construction work.
- Demonstrated ability to develop detailed project proposals and scopes of work.
- Hands-on purchasing and procurement experience for electrical materials and equipment.
- Project scheduling experience using spreadsheets or scheduling tools to plan and track work.
- Advanced Excel skills for estimating, cost tracking, and project reporting.
- Experience communicating and collaborating directly with general contractors and project owners.
- Proven ability to balance production, quality, and safety on active construction sites.
- Organized, decisive, accountable, and comfortable leading experienced field employees.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience managing multiple water or wastewater treatment plant projects concurrently.
- Experience estimating projects directly from plans and specifications.
- Strong change-order management background, including pricing, negotiation, and documentation.
- Exposure to municipal or government-funded projects and their compliance requirements.
- Experience managing electrical subcontractors on complex industrial projects.
- Familiarity with pumps, motors, controls, MCCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and treatment plant electrical systems.
- Strong cost-control experience, including job cost forecasting and variance analysis.
- Existing relationships within Florida's water and wastewater construction market.
