Warehouse Associate
Job Description
The Las Vegas Rescue Mission (LVRM) is looking for a Warehouse Associate to join our Thrift Store team. LVRM is a private, faith-based organization dedicated to serving our community by providing a safe and supportive environment for men and women working to overcome homelessness and addiction.
The LVRM Thrift Store offers a wide range of donated items, including furniture, household goods, clothing, and other essentials, all in support of the Mission. The Thrift Store also operates a clothing giveaway program, providing clothing and essential items to individuals experiencing homelessness in our community, as well as clients participating in the Lighthouse Recovery Program.
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the Thrift Store, furniture warehouse, and sorting warehouse. This position helps ensure a smooth, welcoming, and professional experience for customers, volunteers, donors, and Mission clients. The Warehouse Associate may also assist with receiving, organizing, sorting, moving, and preparing donated merchandise and maintaining clean, safe, and organized work areas.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- Provide friendly, professional, and courteous customer service, creating a welcoming environment for shoppers, donors, volunteers, and clients.
- Support the Thrift Store in meeting operational and financial goals while maintaining a positive customer experience.
- Assist with merchandise displays, department organization, floor layouts, and store presentation to maintain a clean, refreshed, appealing, and uncluttered environment.
- Assist with the daily operation of the Thrift Store, Furniture Warehouse, and other assigned areas.
- Receive and unload incoming delivery trucks and containers.
- Sort, organize, stock, and place merchandise in designated shelving, racks, or storage areas.
- Coordinate with team members regarding scheduled pickups and drop-offs and assist with expedited pickup and delivery requests as needed.
- Assist with furniture voucher scheduling and updates on the dispatch board.
- Assist with loading and unloading Mission vehicles and trucks as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous work in the area of retail is an asset especially Thrift Stores.
- Previous experience working with a vulnerable population an asset.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects with accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Reliable, consistent and self-regulating.
This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, offering a competitive benefit package and paid vacation.
