Department:Clyde Recreation CenterPosition Reports to:CRC Operations Superintendent Pay Grade:15Employment Type:Full-timeExempt/Nonexempt:Non-exemptDescription:Under the immediate direction of the Parks & Recreation Director, manages and directs the daily operations of the Springville Clyde Recreation Center Aquatics.Duties:Responsible for all administrative responsibilities related to the successful operation of the Springville CRC pools and aquatics.Organizes and facilitates local schools, area, and state meets, programs, etc.Develops staffing and program schedules to best meet the needs of the community while remaining fiscally responsible.Familiar with and enforces all applicable local, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, emergency response, and first aid.Develops and enforces policies and procedures in the areas of:Emergency actions and responses.Staff responsibilities and duties.Opening and closing procedures.Ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons.Monitors the facility to ensure that it is safe, clean, and in proper repair. Coordinates with recreation staff and facility staff to resolve problems and make repairs to the facility in a timely manner.Hires, trains, and supervises staff. Develops staff assignments, work schedules, and performs periodic employee evaluations. Monitors and maintains up to date personnel records of pool staff including certifications, licenses, in-service training, CEUs, etc. Schedules and conducts in-service training sessions with staff to cover areas such as (but not limited to):Rescue procedures.First aid.Safety.Equipment use and maintenance.Items related to the employee handbook.Policies and procedures.Program requirements.Current issues or concerns.Develops policies and procedures to ensure that the facility is locked and secured during off hours.Daily cash accounting/accounts receivable.Solicits and works with contract users such as schools, swim teams, youth organizations, health, and fitness providers. Attends regular training meetings conducted by local and state agencies.Keeps accurate attendance records, accounting records, and program records. All other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.Must have at least two (2) years of pool experience, supervisory preferred.The following certifications are required:Hold current certifications in CPR for adults, children, and infants. Hold current certification in First Aid. Hold current PPO, CPO, or AFO certification. Hold certification as a lifeguard (Instructor or Instructor Trainer preferred).Hold certification as a WSI (Instructor or Instructor Trainer preferred).Hold certification in the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) or must obtain within twelve (12) months of hire date.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESMust be self-motivated, creative and be able to meet deadlines. Must be able to work extended hours and be available to work some early mornings, evenings and weekends. Must be skilled and experienced in staff motivation, training, and supervision. Must assist in the development of annual budgets and have sufficient knowledge in accounts receivable practices and procedures to complete daily accounting reports. Physical Demands:Must be physically able to work in and around swimming pool and pool equipment. Must be able to lift 30lbs.Drug screen and background checks performed
