About the OpportunityDFC Manufacturing Group is offering a Department of Defense SkillBridge training opportunity for transitioning service members interested in building a career in skilled trades and manufacturing.This is a 180-day, hands-on training program designed to develop foundational and intermediate skills in fabrication and assembly within a production environment. Participants will work alongside experienced professionals to learn processes related to die components, stripping, blanking systems, and general fabrication techniques required to succeed in the industry.This program is structured as a training experience. Participants remain on active duty and continue to receive pay and benefits from the Department of Defense during the program.Why This Opportunity MattersThis program is designed to bridge military experience into civilian skilled trades careers. You will gain real, hands-on experience in fabrication and assembly within a high-demand manufacturing environment while building a foundation for long-term career growth.What You Will LearnDuring this program, participants will receive hands-on training in:Reading and interpreting assembly drawings, job specifications, and production layoutsAssisting in the assembly of dies, strippers, blankers, and related componentsCutting, fitting, and installing rubber, ejection materials, and hardwareUsing hand tools and fabrication equipment safely and effectivelyPerforming basic measuring and layout tasks to ensure proper fit and alignmentSupporting fabrication processes for die components and assembliesPerforming visual inspections and assisting with quality checksUnderstanding production workflows and manufacturing processesIdentifying defects and supporting troubleshooting effortsTraining StructureThis program follows a structured 180-day progression including:Safety training and shop fundamentalsFabrication fundamentals and material handlingAssembly of stripping and blanking componentsTooling support and installation techniquesIntermediate fabrication and assembly tasksQuality control and defect identificationExposure to advanced fabrication and finishing processesFinal evaluation through supervised assembly and fabrication projectsParticipants will gradually move from observation to hands-on contribution with increasing levels of independence.What We Are Looking ForWe are seeking individuals who:Have a strong interest in hands-on, mechanical or fabrication workDemonstrate attention to detail and willingness to learnAre comfortable working in a production or manufacturing environmentPossess problem-solving ability and a strong work ethicCan follow safety procedures and work as part of a teamProgram DetailsDuration: Up to 180 daysLocation: Alpharetta, GeorgiaCompensation: Paid by the Department of Defense (not DFC)Cost to participant: None
