Heavy Equipment Mechanic - West Palm Beach - Viking Utility
Job Description
Job Summary Performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on support and heavy freight-moving equipment systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on heavy equipment, including but not limited to cranes, excavators, utility trucks, etc.
- Conduct major and minor repairs on heavy equipment as needed.
- Operate, inspect, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical failures on equipment, diagnosing defects.
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists, rigging equipment, and hand tools.
- Provide service calls for equipment repairs as required to job sites and company yards.
- Remain on standby duty during storm season.
- Complete work orders, order necessary parts, and coordinate equipment repairs and services with affected divisions.
- Perform quality fabrications as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in training seminars and workshops as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education / Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy equipment repair, maintenance, and operation.
- Valid driver's license.
- Certifications in mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems preferred.
- English proficiency required.
- Your own Hand tools.
