New York Community Care is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. Duties
Provide comprehensive administrative support to personal injury attorneys, including scheduling, document management, and correspondence handling.
Assist in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, discovery requests, and settlement agreements with accuracy and attention to detail.
Conduct legal research using platforms like LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case development and strategy.
Manage case files using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring all records are up-to-date and properly organized.
Interview clients, witnesses, and experts to gather relevant information for ongoing cases while maintaining confidentiality.
Support litigation processes by reviewing documents, drafting reports, and coordinating court filings in compliance with procedural law requirements.
Communicate effectively with clients, insurance companies, courts, and other stakeholders via phone and written correspondence.
Maintain knowledge of various legal areas including personal injury law, civil litigation support, workers' compensation law, and procedural law to provide accurate assistance.
Skills
Extensive experience in personal injury law with proven paralegal support capabilities.
Strong knowledge of legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw for case preparation.
Proficiency in legal case management software including iManage and PCLaw for efficient document handling.
Familiarity with a broad range of legal areas such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, land use regulations, and general & commercial litigation.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Superior written communication skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence clearly and professionally.
Strong research abilities coupled with attention to procedural details necessary for litigation support.
Experience providing executive administrative support within a legal setting along with excellent phone etiquette.
Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for document creation and data management.
Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
