Job Description
Alliance Health at Baldwinville is a 94-bed skilled nursing facility located in Baldwinville, Massachusetts. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an AR Billing Manager.
The AR Billing Manager is responsible for overseeing the facility's accounts receivable and billing functions, ensuring accurate and timely billing, collections, cash posting, and maintenance of resident financial information. This position works closely with residents, families, insurance providers, Medicaid/Medicare, and facility leadership.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not limited to:
Maintain and monitor the facility's daily census and resident financial information.
Prepare, review, and submit Medicare, Medicaid, HMO/Managed Care, and private-pay claims.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances and unpaid claims.
Perform cash postings and ensure payments are accurately applied to resident accounts.
Research and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and payment issues.
Communicate with residents and families regarding billing, balances, insurance coverage, and financial matters.
Participate in resident/family meetings and provide appropriate follow-up and correspondence.
Work with insurance companies and other third-party payers to obtain accurate payment and resolve outstanding claims.
Maintain accurate billing records and documentation.
Monitor accounts for timely payment and take appropriate steps regarding delinquent balances.
Assist with month-end billing and accounts receivable processes and reporting.
Work collaboratively with facility leadership and other departments to resolve financial and billing-related issues.
Maintain confidentiality of resident and financial information in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Previous experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or healthcare reimbursement required.
Skilled nursing facility/LTC billing experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care/HMO, and private-pay billing preferred.
Experience with MatrixCare and/or PointClickCare (PCC) is a plus.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with residents, families, insurance representatives, and staff.
Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
Candidates with medical billing experience in outpatient rehabilitation, inpatient hospital, hospice, or other healthcare settings will also be considered.
Work Setting: On-site; this is NOT a remote position.
