Our client seeks an experienced SQL Database Administrator to support mission-critical data platforms. The role will manage SQL Server environments, resolve technical requests from end users, optimize database performance, and partner with application support and development teams to deliver reliable, secure, and well-documented data services. Candidates must reside in the Charlotte, NC area and work onsite every Tuesday.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis.

Responsibilities:- Handle technical requests submitted by end users of our client’s products and systems.
- Analyze available data and determine root cause of technical issues with urgency.
- Install and configure SQL Server database environments.
- Implement database schemas, tables, views, and data objects aligned to best practices and company design standards.
- Adhere to Enterprise Query Standards.
- Collaborate with application support specialists and development teams to implement data changes following change management policies.
- Partner with the application support team on quarterly releases.
- Review and refine queries flagged as potentially harmful to production for scalability, availability, and efficiency.
- Perform migration of changes through test, stage, and UAT environments, and deploy to production.
- Evaluate new SQL Server features, trace-flag changes, and operational updates prior to version migrations or upgrades.
- Optimize and tune SQL using execution plans, system DMVs, and approved third-party tools.
- Create, update, and maintain database system diagrams and operational documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions.
- Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator supporting production environments.
- Hands-on expertise with SQL Server installation, configuration, and environment maintenance.
- Proficiency in query optimization and performance tuning using execution plans and DMVs.
- Experience implementing and migrating schema and data changes across non-production and production environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise change management practices and release coordination.
- Ability to analyze and remediate problematic queries for stability and scalability.
- Experience documenting database standards, procedures, and data definitions.
- Capacity to work onsite in Charlotte, NC every Tuesday.
