About the Role:

The IT Specialist (Part Time) plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the technological infrastructure of the organization. This position is responsible for providing timely technical support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. The role involves collaborating with various departments to understand their technology needs and implementing effective solutions that improve productivity and security. The IT Specialist will also assist in system upgrades, network maintenance, and user training to optimize technology use across the organization. Ultimately, this position ensures that all IT resources are reliable, secure, and aligned with the company’s operational goals while working within a part-time schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT support or a similar technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Familiarity with common networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).
  • Experience with cloud services and virtualization technologies.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
  • Experience supporting remote users and managing mobile devices.
  • Familiarity with scripting or automation tools to streamline IT tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues to end-users.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, software applications, and peripheral devices.
  • Monitor and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Assist in the implementation of IT projects, system upgrades, and security protocols.
  • Document IT processes, maintain inventory of IT assets, and provide training to staff on technology best practices.

The IT Specialist uses their technical skills daily to diagnose and resolve a wide range of hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal downtime for users.
