Do you love being part of a compassionate care-giving team? We are searching for an APRN to provide care at our Immediate Care Clinic here in Newton, KS. Under administrative direction and guidance provides comprehensive and professional health care to clients in the immediate care setting. Practice is distinguished by autonomy of practice and is characterized by both an increased complexity of clinical decision-making ability and greater skill in managing organizations and environments. Activities are carried out in accordance with the Scope and Standards of Advanced Practice Registered Nursing of the Kansas State Board of Nursing’s Practice Act. The nurse in this position demonstrates a high level of expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of the complex responses of individuals, families, or communities to actual or potential health problems, prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and experience:

  • Master's degree graduate of an accredited school of nursing advanced practice program
  • 1-2 years clinical experience preferred

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of evidence-based practice and its application in the promotion of health outcomes.
  • Advanced knowledge of pharmacology, especially as appropriate to specialty area.
  • High level of skill in utilizing appropriate oral and written communication with clients, physicians, nurses, staff and community members.
  • Expert skill in diagnosis and treatment of individuals, families or communities, including but not limited to interviewing and counseling clients and delegating/assigning duties to others.
  • Proficient skill in the application of techniques, procedures and instruments according to recognized policies.
  • Demonstrated evidence of considerable ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Demonstrated evidence of considerable ability to formulate clinical decisions to manage acute and chronic illness and promote wellness.

Licensure, registration or certification:

  • Current RN and APRN license in good standing from the Kansas State Board of Nursing
  • Holds a number assigned by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support
