Position Overview

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Enrolled Agent with strong tax preparation and client service experience to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate will be skilled in preparing and reviewing a wide range of tax returns, providing tax planning guidance, and maintaining compliance with federal and state tax laws. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys working in a collaborative small-firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns.
  • Research complex tax issues and ensure compliance with current tax regulations.
  • Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to clients.
  • Communicate with clients to collect information, resolve discrepancies, and discuss results.
  • Assist with IRS and state correspondence or audit responses as needed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethics in all client interactions.

Qualifications

  • Active Enrolled Agent (EA) license required.
  • Minimum 3 years of tax preparation experience in a public accounting or tax firm environment.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and tax software (e.g., ATX, Lacerte, Drake, or UltraTax).
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes, forms, and filing requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and meet filing deadlines.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on tax law changes.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Full-time, year-round position.
  • Standard business hours, with additional hours during tax season.
  • Flexible scheduling or hybrid work options may be available for the right candidate.
