Beautician
Job Description
We are seeking a licensed Beautician/Cosmetologist to provide on-site personal care services to residents in our skilled nursing facility. This is an independent contractor role offering a scheduled service day every other week.
The Beautician will provide services to residents who have signed up in advance and will coordinate closely with the facility’s Business Office to ensure proper payment handling for each resident.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Provide cosmetology services to residents in a professional and compassionate manner
• Work from a resident sign-up list provided by the facility
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized salon space
• Communicate with the Business Office to confirm payment source prior to services
• Post and maintain clear, transparent pricing for all services
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and facility policies
• Respect resident rights, dignity, and privacy at all times
Schedule & Work Environment
• Services provided one designated day every other week
• On-site salon space is provided by the facility
• Residents may require extra time, mobility support, or gentle accommodations.
Compensation & Payment Structure
• Service pricing is set by the Beautician and must be provided to the facility
• Pricing should be fair and reasonable, recognizing residents may be on Medicaid or have limited income
• Payment for services may be paid directly by the facility or directly by the resident or resident representative
• Payment source will be confirmed with the Business Office prior to service delivery
Required Qualifications
• Active Washington State Cosmetology License
• Professional liability insurance with minimum coverage of $100,000
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Experience or comfort working with elderly or vulnerable adults preferred
• Strong communication and professionalism
Compliance Requirements
• Cosmetology license must be posted in the salon space
• Proof of liability insurance must be submitted prior to start and kept current
• Must comply with all facility policies and healthcare safety standards
Independent Contractor Status
This position is classified as an Independent Contractor (1099) role. The Beautician is not an employee of the facility and is responsible for applicable taxes, insurance, and professional compliance.
