We are seeking a dependable, organized, and compassionate Medical Inventory Specialist / Patient Transportation Driver to join our team. This dual-role position supports both resident transportation and facility operations by ensuring residents arrive safely at appointments while maintaining accurate inventory and timely distribution of medical supplies.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to providing excellent service to residents, families, and coworkers.
Position DetailsSchedule: Monday–Friday
Additional Requirement: This position participates in the Manager on Duty (MOD) rotation. Additional details will be discussed during the interview.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
Safely transporting residents to and from scheduled medical appointments, activities, and other approved destinations.
Assisting residents with entering and exiting facility vehicles and using transportation equipment as needed.
Maintaining accurate inventory of supplies throughout Central Supply and nursing units.
Collecting, processing, and delivering supply requisitions to the appropriate departments.
Ordering supplies from approved vendors in accordance with facility procedures.
Receiving shipments and distributing packing slips to appropriate department heads.
Ensuring supply and storage areas remain clean, organized, secure, and well-maintained.
Tracking inventory levels and updating inventory records accurately.
Reporting supply shortages, damaged products, or other concerns to management.
Following all facility policies related to resident safety, infection prevention, transportation, and confidentiality.
Providing courteous and professional service to residents, families, visitors, and staff.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.
Ability to safely operate facility vehicles and transportation equipment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
Ability to safely lift, push, pull, bend, and assist residents as required by the position.
Previous healthcare or long-term care experience preferred, but not required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in a healthcare environment.
Maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor at all times.
Follow all facility safety policies and infection prevention and control standards.
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Effectively manage multiple responsibilities and transition between transportation and inventory duties.
Communicate promptly with supervisors and department staff regarding transportation, inventory, or supply concerns.
