JOB TITLE: Child Care Teacher DEPARTMENT: Child Care CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt CATEGORY: Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and follow a full schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching materialResponsible for overall supervision and daily class functionalityBalance your teaching between logical and social exercisesProvide basic care and caregiving activitiesUse a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc) to enhance the child's abilitiesSupport emotional wellbeing of the childrenRemain in constant communication with parents and update them on the progress of their childrenObserve children's interactions and promote the spirit of concordIdentify behavioral problems and determine the right course of actionCollaborate with other colleaguesAdhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by organization policies and procedureSupervise children at all times - in classroom, on playground, on field trips, during parties, etc.Report all injuries/accidents occurring during shift to Center DirectorBe willing to gain more knowledge, experience, and training in the field of Early Childhood Development by attending Center staff meetings and local, state, regional, and national child care meetings/training.Maintain client, employee, and agency confidentiality.Maintain classroom in a clean and orderly manner.Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS:BS or AA in Early Childhood Development, Child Development Associate (CDA), Certificate of Mastery (CoM), Certified Childcare Professional (CCP), or willingness to obtain CDA/CoM/CCP within 18 months of hire.At least one year of experience as classroom teacher in child care settingExcellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methodsAbility to create lesson plansPatience, flexibility and love for childrenStrong communication and time management skillsCertificate in mandatory reporter, first aid and CPR or willing to obtain within the first month of employment.Be able to lift children assigned to your care multiple times dailyMust pass enhanced background check SUPERVISION:- Supervised by the Child Care Center Director. SALARY LEVEL: - Annual Salary Range: $38,459.20 - $54,745.60
