Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – PRN
Location: Columbus Community
Schedule: CONSISTENT PRN / As Needed (Typically 1–2 days per week)
Employment Type: Per Diem / PRN

About the Role:

The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care across diverse healthcare settings in the United States. This position involves comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care to meet the physical and emotional needs of patients. The RN collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure effective treatment plans and patient safety. Additionally, the role emphasizes patient education and advocacy to empower individuals and families in managing their health. Ultimately, the RN contributes to improving patient outcomes through skilled clinical practice and compassionate care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Demonstrated experience in direct patient care and medical/surgical nursing.
  • Strong knowledge of patient safety protocols and infection control standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Advanced certifications such as Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN) or Pediatric Nursing Certification.
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac care units.
  • Previous work experience as a Nurse Practitioner or in a specialized nursing role.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare informatics.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing wound care.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care to promote recovery and wellness.
  • Utilize telemetry equipment to monitor cardiac patients and respond promptly to any changes in condition.
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and needs within the healthcare team to ensure ethical and patient-centered care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Support pediatric nursing care by addressing the unique needs of infants, children, and adolescents when applicable.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with medical and surgical nursing best practices.
