Location: East Aurora, NY

Hours: Full-Time Days
Compensation: $19.76 per hour
JOB SUMMARY:
The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for the maintaining and updating resident’s medical records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Sets up residents’ medical records, collects information from nursing staff, physicians and other sources to update records, thins charts and closes charts as needed
• Monitors and audits records for completeness and accuracy, and thins charts in accordance with facility policy and regulations, and provides information to business office
• Updates the resident care policies
• Prepare the required MD paperwork, schedule outside MD visits and update MD and NP visit calendars
• Processes transfer or discharge records and maintains appropriate records on former residents
• Add physician’s orders, lab results and department reports to the medical record
• Processes lab requests, quarterly and annual PRI assessments, QA calendar/minutes, door tags, resident tags/bands, standard units of measure, Census, notify team regarding admissions/discharges, transfers with appropriate paperwork, QA audits on assigned residents, In-Service logs, update DUM sheets/care guides

• Problem solver identifying actual/potential problems and creates an action plan for resolution and then measuring outcomes to determine course of action.
EDUCATION: Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associates degree in medical records administration
EXPERIENCE: Minimum: 6 months of administrative experience
Preferred: 1 year of experience in medical administration
