About CASA of Berks County
CASA of Berks County recruits, trains, and supports volunteer advocates for children who are dependent on Berks County Children & Youth Services. Our advocates give judges the information they need to make decisions in a child's best interest — often serving as the one consistent adult voice in a child's case.
Position Summary
The Advocate Supervisor provides direct supervision and support to a caseload of volunteer advocates, ensuring high-quality advocacy for children in the dependency system. This role also leads volunteer training and represents CASA in the community through outreach and recruitment efforts.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Case Support
  • Supervise and support an assigned caseload of volunteer advocates
  • Review advocate reports and ensure quality, timely court documentation
  • Provide guidance on case-related decisions, family engagement, and court preparation
  • Monitor advocate performance and provide coaching as needed
  • Maintain accurate case records in compliance with program standards
Training
  • Lead pre-service and in-service training for new and current volunteer advocates
  • Support the development and delivery of training materials
  • Help onboard new advocates into their first cases
Community Outreach
  • Represent CASA of Berks County at community events, presentations, and partner meetings
  • Support volunteer recruitment efforts across the county
  • Build relationships with community organizations, schools, and referral partners
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience in social services
  • Experience supervising others
  • Demonstrated ability to lead trainings
  • Experience with community outreach or public-facing engagement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload with competing priorities
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local travel
Work Environment
This is a full-time, hybrid position combining remote work with in-office time, court appearances, community outreach, and in-person training sessions as needed.
