Summary
A well-established Northern California general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead projects throughout the North Bay. The company maintains a diverse portfolio including multifamily housing, public and private construction, education, healthcare, retail, and commercial projects.
The ideal candidate brings strong ground-up construction experience, with multifamily experience highly preferred, and is comfortable traveling between project sites throughout the region. This opportunity is best suited for a Superintendent who values long-term stability, project variety, and a company that invests in experienced field leadership.
Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project closeout
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, manpower, materials, and site logistics
- Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules and support overall project scheduling
- Monitor construction progress and maintain project milestones
- Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and field coordination items
- Lead subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and daily field coordination
- Coordinate inspections with owners, consultants, agencies, and building officials
- Maintain quality control and ensure work complies with plans and specifications
- Partner closely with Project Managers and project teams on schedule, cost, and field issues
- Maintain daily reports and project documentation
- Manage punch list, final inspections, closeout, and turnover
- Experience with wood-frame, podium, mixed-use, or similar ground up multifamily construction is highly valued
- Additional experience with public works, education, healthcare/medical office, retail, or commercial projects is a plus
- Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades on active construction sites
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, quality, and safety
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software preferred
