POSITION SUMMARY: Perform the duties required to coordinate and monitor provision of medical services in a professional manner for each individual patient.Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing.Experience: Three (3) years as an RN in community clinic, public health nursing, and/or hospital setting; Skills and Abilities (which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly, associated with this position):Requires strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work effectively individually as well as a team member with physicians and other staff.Ability to appropriately interact and educate patients, families, and staff.Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft office applications such as Outlook, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to coordinate the activities of a busy provider practice.Ability to maintain confidentialityTransportation Requirement: Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile with insurance coverage as required by the State of Missouri.License(s)/Certificate(s): Licensed as RN in the State of Missouri.Essential FunctionsCoordinate and monitor the quality of medical assistant services.Coordinate and monitor provisions of medical services. Assist providers, take and record vital signs, abnormal results, distribute sample medications and administer injections per provider's orders.Triage walk-in clients, call-in clients as appropriate for patient care and safety.Keep patients records; complete appropriate forms and reports. Provide appropriate documentation. Adhere to patient confidentiality.Monitor exam set-up.Provide health education and counsel patients and family members in provider instructions and treatment program. Coordinate nursing care plans with other team members.Initiate the referral of high-risk patients and families for special services, team management, and track the patient's referral (i.e.) abnormal lab results.Assist with implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Quality Improvement Programs. Observe sign and symptoms, document and report reactions of the treatment to the provider.
