Location: Nassau County, New York
Shift: Full-Time
Salary: $70,000 – $75,000

About the Role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Medicaid Coordinator to join our team in Massapequa, NY. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing Medicaid applications, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and assisting residents and families through the financial eligibility process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all Medicaid applications and re-certifications for residents.

  • Assist residents and families in gathering documentation and understanding eligibility requirements.

  • Track application statuses and respond promptly to state agency requests to ensure timely submissions.

  • Maintain an accurate Medicaid pending list and monitor spend-down processes.

  • Review and manage financial records, including private pay accounts and Medicaid conversion billing.

  • Conduct meetings with residents and families to explain billing, Medicaid, and insurance coverage.

  • Ensure strict compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, and managed care regulations.

  • Generate and submit reports related to billing, aging, Medicaid conversions, and collections.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.

  • At least 1 year of direct experience with Medicaid applications and re-certifications.

  • Medicaid Portal experience preferred.

  • MEDS system experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.

  • Strong knowledge of billing procedures, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and managed care guidelines.

  • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
