JEVS Human Services has an exciting opportunity to join our Philadelphia Independence Network (PIN) team as an Career Navigator in our Collingswood NJ location. As the Career Navigator, you will assist in ensuring that youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities have a more fully informed choice and can successfully transition into integrated, competitive employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate entire arc of Discovery process for assigned participants
  • Work with participants to identify internship and employment opportunities; provide support as needed:
    • On-board participants into internships
    • Train participants on technical aspects of expectations
    • Train employers regarding support needs of individuals; provide ongoing technical assistance to employers
  • Participate in recruiting participants
  • Engage with employers; educate employers and staff; facilitate resolution of participant’s challenges.
  • Provide coaching, counseling and feedback when necessary; assists in identifying creative solutions to encourage smooth transitions
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, counseling, or related field required
  • 1+ years' experience working with people with disabilities required; experience in career counseling preferred
  • Ability to perform administrative functions such as organizing and completing paperwork, gathering and tracking data, and reading and understanding technical documents.
  • Computer proficiency required; ability to use Microsoft Suite required
  • Ability to learn DSPD, DRS, SSA and TTW programs and other applicable government rules and regulations.
  • Ability to learn different types of disabilities and know strategies to provide appropriate training and/or employment opportunities.
  • Drives personal vehicle to alternative work sites. Occasionally transports participants.

The base pay for this position is $40,000. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
