Daycare Float

Heritage Christian Childcare Center is currently seeking a dependable and energeticDaycare Float to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is flexible, nurturing, and passionate about working with children of all ages in a Christian childcare environment.

As a Float Teacher, you will assist in various classrooms throughout the center, helping maintain a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment while supporting teachers and children during daily routines and activities.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Sit, stand, bend, reach, walk, run, and actively engage with children throughout the day
• Lift children and equipment up to 50 pounds
• Sit on the floor, crawl, stoop, and participate in indoor and outdoor activities

Daily Responsibilities

• Create a safe, loving, and welcoming environment for children
• Assist classrooms with daily routines, supervision, and transitions
• Provide attentive and individualized care to children of varying ages
• Feed children safely and according to parent instructions
• Change diapers and assist with toileting needs following ODJFS guidelines
• Comfort children and assist with emotional regulation and self-soothing
• Help children during nap and rest times
• Use the Playground App to document meals, naps, diapering, activities, and daily updates
• Upload at least one daily photo or video for families
• Immediately report injuries or concerns to Administration and complete required documentation

Educational & Classroom Support

• Assist Lead Teachers with classroom activities and lesson plans
• Encourage learning through play, creativity, and sensory experiences
• Help guide positive behaviors through redirection and encouragement
• Foster children’s confidence, communication, and social-emotional development
• Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment

Training & Compliance

• Follow all DCY rules, center policies, and safety procedures
• Maintain required state training hours
• Participate in trainings including First Aid, CPR, Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse Recognition & Prevention
• Participate in emergency drills and staff meetings
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
• Assist with maintaining classroom records and documentation
