Hours: Monday – Friday | 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM (first 1-2 months; schedule may become more flexible to support additional shifts)

Fleet Technician II Job Summary
Under the direction and supervision of the Fleet Manager, the Fleet Technician II is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on the organization’s fleet of emergency and support vehicles. This position ensures vehicles and equipment remain safe, reliable, and operational to support business needs. This role may require availability for nights, weekends, and holidays.
Fleet Technician II Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on company vehicles, ambulances, heavy equipment, trailers, and other motor vehicles according to manufacturer specifications.
- Complete oil changes, tune-ups, inspections, and general mechanical repairs.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace vehicle components and systems including:
- Brake systems
- Belts
- Water pumps
- Transmissions
- Other mechanical components
- Utilize diagnostic equipment and software to test vehicle systems and identify repair needs.
- Perform routine inspections and assessments of critical vehicle components based on department standards and checklists.
- Maintain repair schedules and prioritize work based on operational needs and vehicle availability.
- Respond to vehicle/unit locations when needed to reduce downtime and support operations.
- Test drive vehicles to verify safe and proper operation after repairs.
- Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance and repair records.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and emergency vehicle operation standards.
- Represent the organization professionally while maintaining a positive company image.
Fleet Technician II Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a vocational/technical program or apprenticeship in automotive repair or a related field required.
- ASE certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience with Ford and Chevy diesel engine diagnosis and repair preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.
Fleet Technician II Skills & Requirements
- Strong mechanical repair and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret service and repair manuals.
- Experience using computer diagnostic equipment and software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to:
- Walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, crawl, and move throughout the facility for extended periods.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 150 lbs.
- Work is performed in a fleet maintenance environment with exposure to:
- Heat, cold, rain, snow, and ice.
- Noise levels ranging from minimal to intense.
