Teacher

The teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate classroom per all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures. The teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a lesson plan to teach young children.

• Student Supervision
• Ensure compliance at the classroom level with activities and record-keeping due to the state department (Minimum Licensing Standards, Early Childhood Environment Rating Scales etc.)
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Complete all lesson planning and instruction requirements, and provide support for struggling learners
• Attend meetings related to the child in the assigned class, and attend professional development activities
• Communicate with parents and provide parent engagement activities
• Excellent time management, high degree of professionalism
• Ensure equipment and the facility are clean, well-maintained, and safe at all times
• Establish acceptable and consistent disciplinary policies
• Be familiar with emergency procedures
• Discuss children’s day with parents
• Discuss children’s development with the director and parents when appropriate
• A growth mindset, able to accept change and challenges to prior learning

• High School Diploma, required
• Experience in a licensed setting, required
• Degree in Education or a related field, preferred
