The Monarch at Brooklyn Rehab and Nursing Center is seeking a Recreation Therapist to join our growing team.
Recreation Therapist Job Description:
Responsible for planning and conducting group and individual recreation programs as assigned by the Director of Recreation
Responsible for documenting program attendance and participation
Facilitate independent activities for residents
Assist residents to and from recreation programs
All other tasks as assigned by the Director of Recreation
Work as part of the care plan team in determining therapeutic objectives and goals.
Create patient specific care plans
Other duties as required
Recreation Therapist Qualifications/Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years working with the frail or elderly population.
Two years' experience in a social or recreational program providing and coordinating services.
Working knowledge of physical, psycosocial and behavioral needs of the elderly population.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Certified as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist is a plus
Shift Needs: Part Time and Per Diem
Pay Rate: Up to $23.88 an hour (based on experience)
