JOB DESCRIPTION
The Custodial/General Cleaner I is responsible for performing general inside and outside building and grounds maintenance activities to include but is not limited to clean, sweep, wax, paint, perform carpentry and building repair duties; clean and sweep parking lots, restrooms, and public common areas. Perform manual labor involved in custodial maintenance. The ideal candidate will enjoy working with animals!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be able to read, interpret and follow work orders and procedures, as necessary.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap).
- Wipe mirrors and windows.
- Maintain outer premises by watering plants, mowing lawn, cleaning entrances.
- Perform maintenance and minor repairs (replacing broken switches, fixing door handles)
- Report major damages and oversee repairs.
- Secure facilities after operating hours by locking doors, closing windows, and setting up the alarm.
Experience, Competencies and Education:
- Must be able to read, interpret and follow work orders and procedures, as necessary.
- Possess the ability to manage time efficiently to accomplish goals and tasks.
- Must be customer service oriented, always have a customer friendly attitude and professional appearance.
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Physical Requirement:
- Performs light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting up to 20 to 50 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, or skill, adeptness, and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation electronic office machines or tools within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.
Pay Rate: $13.76/hr.
