TRC is hiring a Reliability Engineer for our client a nationally recognized restaurant organization where you'll play a critical role in improving equipment reliability across nearly 3,000 locations. In this highly visible position, you will investigate recurring equipment failures, identify root causes, and lead engineering solutions that reduce downtime, lower maintenance costs, and enhance restaurant performance. Working closely with internal stakeholders, manufacturers, and suppliers, you'll drive equipment improvements through design, material, software, and process enhancements that deliver measurable results across a large-scale operation.


Key Responsibilities

Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve recurring equipment failures and reliability issues.

Lead projects focused on reducing maintenance costs, downtime, and operational disruptions.

Test, validate, and implement equipment modifications and performance improvements.

Coordinate engineering change initiatives with equipment manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers.

Monitor and analyze equipment performance trends across approximately 3,000 restaurant locations.

Develop scalable solutions that can be deployed across a large, geographically diverse restaurant network.

Prepare business cases and financial analyses to support reliability improvement initiatives.

Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

2-5 years of experience in reliability engineering, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, maintenance engineering, or a related discipline.

Proven experience identifying equipment failures and implementing permanent corrective actions.

Strong understanding of engineering change management, including design, material, software, and process improvements.

Experience working directly with vendors, suppliers, and external manufacturing partners.

Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive change.

Foodservice, restaurant, or retail operations experience is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment

Primarily office-based with hands-on equipment testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities.

Occasional visits to restaurant locations to investigate field issues and validate solutions.

Travel requirement of approximately 10-15%, depending on project needs and business priorities.
