Dietary Aide - Part Time Nights and Weekend Position in Mystic, CT!

As a Dietary Aide at Pendleton Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to our Residents and employees while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary dietary department. Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of meals and beverages

• Participate in the food tray line and prepare trays according to diet cards in an efficient manner

• Assist with loading food carts and serving meals to Residents and staff

• Clean and wrap silverware, inspecting each piece to ensure it is clean before wrapping

Qualifications:

• Previous food service or healthcare experience is a plus

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a health care setting, requiring regular walking to various locations around the facility while pulling or pushing dietary carts. The dietary department may experience extreme temperature changes from excessive heat in the cooking area to freezing temperatures in walk-in freezers. This role may also come into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This part-time position is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and requires rotating shifts, as well as holiday and work during inclement weather.
