Position Description: About the RoleAt Bronx Arts, we see teaching as an art form. We are seeking a dynamic Multilingual Learner (MLL/ENL) Teacher who can design and deliver rigorous, engaging instruction while supporting students in developing strong English language proficiency across content areas.In this role, you will ensure that multilingual learners are not only supported—but challenged, included, and set up to thrive academically and socially. You will work closely with classroom teachers to provide targeted language instruction while building systems that support access to grade-level content.This is a role for an educator who believes deeply in language development, equity, and high expectations for all students.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver standards-aligned ENL instruction that supports language development across reading, writing, speaking, and listeningProvide push-in and pull-out support based on student needs and program requirementsCollaborate with classroom teachers to co-plan and adapt instruction to support multilingual learnersWrite and submit clear lesson plans and weekly instructional overviewsUse data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordinglySupport the implementation of scaffolds, accommodations, and language supports across classroomsAdminister and support NYS language proficiency assessments (e.g., NYSESLAT)Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all MLL program requirementsMaintain a beautiful, organized classroom environment that reflects student learning, including bulletin boards and displaysCollaborate closely with arts teachers to plan and support school-based events, including performances, art exhibits, and science fairs, and actively participate in these events, including those that take place beyond the school dayCommunicate regularly with families, including parent-teacher conferencesParticipate in professional development and coaching cyclesWhat We’re Looking ForStrong knowledge of second language acquisition and ENL instructional practicesAbility to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers and support inclusive instructionStrong instructional planning and executionExcellent writing and communication skillsProficiency with instructional technology and data tracking toolsOrganized, proactive, and solutions-drivenGrowth mindset and openness to feedbackCollaborative team playerPassion for the arts and belief in creativity as a driver of student successQualificationsNew York State Certification in ESOL/ENL (required)Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)Experience working with multilingual learners preferredBilingual (Spanish) is a strong plusClearance for fingerprinting and criminal background check requiredCompensation$67,000 to $98,000 annuallyBronx Arts is an equal opportunity employer.
