Construction Interiors Manager
Contract Opportunity | Northern Virginia / Washington, DC Area

We are seeking an experienced Construction Interiors Manager to support multifamily renovation and capital improvement projects within apartment communities. This is a contract position supporting ongoing renovation and redevelopment initiatives. The Interiors Manager will serve as the on-site construction lead, working closely with project teams to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience coordinating apartment renovations, managing vendors and subcontractors, tracking project progress, and serving as a key point of contact throughout the construction process.

Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction & Project Oversight
  • Serve as the on-site representative and primary liaison for daily construction activities.
  • Support the successful execution of multifamily unit renovations and interior improvement projects.
  • Coordinate and oversee contractors, vendors, and construction crews throughout project completion.
  • Assist with capital improvement projects, including exterior repairs, amenity upgrades, MEP improvements, and common area renovations.
  • Conduct property walks, assess project needs, document site conditions, and assist with repair cost estimates.
  • Ensure work is completed according to established building standards, code requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Track, organize, and maintain construction materials and inventory on-site.
Project Coordination & Administration
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and tracking project schedules.
  • Participate in construction meetings and provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Support procurement efforts for construction services, materials, and vendors.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules while identifying risks and potential delays.
  • Update and maintain internal project tracking systems and reporting tools.
  • Communicate project status and updates to key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of construction, renovation, or project coordination experience.
  • Experience with multifamily renovations strongly preferred; hospitality renovation experience will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead construction crews and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, equipment, scheduling, and project sequencing.
  • Experience supporting project budgets, cost tracking, and schedules.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with contractors, vendors, residents, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with apartment community renovations, redevelopment projects, or capital improvement programs is highly preferred.
