Metal Fabricator Job Overview
Council Stainless Steel Company is seeking a dependable and motivated Metal Fabricator to join our team in Oklahoma City. The ideal candidate will have experience working with stainless steel and other metals, interpreting blueprints, operating fabrication equipment, and producing high-quality finished products. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of custom fabrication projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Metal Fabricator Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders.
- Measure, mark, cut, bend, and assemble metal components.
- Operate fabrication equipment including saws, shears, brakes, grinders, and punches.
- Fit and assemble stainless steel components according to specifications.
- Perform TIG and MIG welding as needed.
- Inspect completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA standards.
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to meet production deadlines.
- Assist with shop organization and other fabrication-related duties as assigned.
Metal Fabricator Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Experience with hand tools and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet throughout the day.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
Metal Fabricator Preferred
- Previous metal fabrication experience.
- Experience working with stainless steel.
- TIG and/or MIG welding experience.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.
- Welding certifications are a plus.
Metal Fabricator Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
- Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing and fabrication shop environment.
- Ability to wear required PPE.
