Schedule:Monday - Thursday: 3 pm - 6 pm
Pay Range (based on experience)$25 - $30 per hr
The After School Program Group Lead's role is to help facilitate the after-school Social Skills Groups and to be a positive, supportive mentor for participating clients and staff. The Group Lead encourages engagement, models appropriate social interactions, assists with activities and behavior management, and helps create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where clients can build confidence, communication skills, and healthy peer interactions.
Requirements:Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary facilitator to their assigned social skills groups(Floor).
- Maintain communication as needed with the Program Coordinator.
- Lead and explain activities on a day-to-day basis.
- Set up (if not already done) and clean up materials for each activity.
- Remind direct staff to follow the Social Skills Group (SSG) schedule.
- Model appropriate prompting, reinforcement, and behavior management techniques.
- Address minor issues immediately and refer major concerns to a supervisor.
- Maintain structure, routine, and clear expectations for group members.
- Adjust pacing or activities based on client arrival times and inform the Program Coordinator of any schedule deviations.
- Communicate regularly with the Program Coordinator regarding the daily schedule and group needs.
- Report incidents, injuries, or significant behavioral events to the Program Coordinator or Lead BCBA.
- Seek clarification whenever unsure how to best support the group or clients.
- Prioritize client needs above all else. The immediate safety, support, and learning of clients in the social skills group must always take precedence over other Group Lead responsibilities.
