Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join their patient-centered healthcare team, supporting older adults in maintaining their health, independence, and quality of life. Duties & ResponsibilitiesClinical Support & ProceduresPrepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs, escorting them to exam rooms, and ensuring comfort.
Perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, EKGs, blood glucose checks, and other clinical procedures within scope.
Assist providers and nurses with examinations, treatments, and minor diagnostic procedures.
Administer medications or immunizations, if permitted within scope of practice.
Handle lab specimens safely, ensuring proper labeling and readiness for courier pick-up.
Follow all safety, infection control, and confidentiality protocols, including universal precautions.
Collaborate daily with the clinical team to manage patient flow and ensure timely, efficient care.
Coordinate follow-up appointments with scheduling staff.
Answer clinic phones and relay important messages to care staff.
Communicate clearly with patients, offering education and instructions as directed by clinical staff.
Maintain a clean and well-stocked exam room environment and monitor supply inventory.
Enter and update medication and immunization histories into Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Fax and scan clinical documentation such as prescriptions and referral paperwork in compliance with HIPAA.
Participate in training, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
Perform other tasks as assigned that fall within the scope of certified medical assistant practice.
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure: Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification/license.
Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Work Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience working as a CMA in a healthcare setting.
Specialized Population: Experience working with frail or elderly populations preferred (training provided if not already met).
Clinical Skills: Knowledge of medication administration protocols (within CMA scope) and familiarity with safe handling of lab specimens and medical equipment.
Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to remain calm in emergencies while communicating effectively across care teams.
Bilingual preferred
Work Type: Full-Time Position (40 hours per week; Monday through Friday).
Work Setting: On-Site Clinic Environment.
