Job Summary

Full Steam Staffing is seeking a Human Resources Generalist – Employee Relations to support our temporary workforce and operations team.


The HR Generalist will be primarily responsible for receiving, reviewing, investigating, and resolving employee complaints and workplace concerns involving temporary employees assigned to Full Steam Staffing client locations. This position serves as an HR resource to employees, managers, and Operations and helps ensure workplace concerns are addressed promptly, consistently, professionally, and in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws.


The HR Generalist will conduct employee relations investigations, gather and review relevant information, interview employees and witnesses, document findings, identify potential policy or compliance concerns, and partner with HR leadership and Operations to determine appropriate next steps.

This role requires strong judgment, confidentiality, attention to detail, investigative skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and sometimes complex employee matters in a fast-paced staffing environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as a primary HR point of contact for employee complaints, workplace concerns, and employee relations matters involving the temporary workforce.
  • Conduct prompt, thorough, and objective workplace investigations, including interviewing employees, witnesses, supervisors, and other relevant parties.
  • Review employee statements, time records, communications, policies, and other documentation related to investigations.
  • Prepare clear and detailed investigation notes, findings, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify inconsistencies, missing information, and areas requiring additional investigation or follow-up.
  • Partner with Operations and HR leadership to determine appropriate resolutions and corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance to managers and supervisors regarding employee complaints, workplace conflicts, performance concerns, policy violations, and disciplinary matters.
  • Review and coordinate Reasonable Accommodation requests and participate in the interactive process, as appropriate.
  • Review and administer FMLA, CFRA, bereavement leave, and other applicable protected leave requests, including required documentation, eligibility, and employee communications.
  • Recognize and escalate potential harassment, discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, or other legal and compliance concerns.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee relations, investigation, accommodation, and leave documentation.
  • Follow up on open employee relations matters to ensure required actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Support HR and Operations with additional employee relations and HR-related projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources experience, preferably with a focus on Employee Relations or a similar HR role.
  • Previous experience handling employee complaints and conducting workplace investigations.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws, employee relations practices, Reasonable Accommodation, FMLA, CFRA, and protected leave requirements.
  • Strong interviewing, fact-finding, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and remain objective when handling sensitive employee matters.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Microsoft Office, and related business tools.
  • Staffing, recruiting, or high-volume workforce experience preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.
  • Must be available to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.
  • Must be able to work occasional extended hours or weekends based on business needs.
  • Strong ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with HR and Operations teams.
