Industrial Turbomachinery Welder -- Precision Repairs

If exacting welds on critical components motivate you, this role is for you. From our Westside of Jacksonville shop, you’ll return gas and steam turbine parts to service by applying disciplined GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW techniques across advanced alloys.

Pay: $24–$30/hr

Impact you’ll make

• Own precision weld build-up, fabrication, restoration, and repair of turbine and heavy industrial components.
• Translate engineering drawings, blueprints, repair procedures, and weld specs into flawless execution.
• Set up and operate welding equipment with a relentless focus on safety and efficiency.
• Manage preheat and interpass temperatures and complete all required post‑weld steps.
• Grind, blend, contour, and polish welds to meet stringent quality and customer requirements.
• Work side-by-side with machinists, inspectors, and supervisors to meet repair goals.
• Uphold company safety policies and quality standards at all times.

• 300 Series Stainless Steels
• 400 Series Stainless Steels
• Hastelloy‑X
• Inconel alloys
• Aluminum
• Silicon Bronze
• Carbon and low‑alloy steels
• Thin sections down to 0.060 inches while protecting dimensional and metallurgical integrity

Your background

• Experience repairing gas and steam turbine components.
• Proven skill welding turbine diaphragms, nozzle segments, combustion hardware, casings, rotors, and related equipment.
• Working knowledge of NDE methods including PT (liquid penetrant) and MT (magnetic particle).
• Comfortable meeting precision machining tolerances and fit-up requirements.
• AWS certifications preferred.
• Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

Physical expectations

• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, bend, and kneel in an industrial shop environment.
• Safely operate welding, grinding, and material-handling equipment.
