Air Cooler Hydro Helper works in industrial manufacturing settings (such as air cooler and heat exchanger fabrication plants) to support the hydrostatic (hydro) testing department. They assist with pressure-testing industrial coils and units to ensure structural integrity and check for leaks before final delivery
Core Job Duties
- Assist with Hydro Testing: Help set up and execute hydrostatic pressure tests on industrial air cooler units, coils, and headers.
- Equipment Hookup: Connect and secure water hoses, pressure gauges, valves, and test fittings safely.
- Monitor and Inspect: Watch equipment and pressure levels closely during testing; inspect welds, tubes, and components for water leaks or defects.
- Material Handling: Move parts, tools, and finished assemblies around the shop floor using manual or mechanical lifting equipment.
- Tool Operation: Safely use hand tools and portable power tools to prep units or tighten fittings.
- Safety & Cleanup: Maintain a clean, dry, and organized work space while adhering strictly to plant safety rules and pressure-testing protocols.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Physical Strength: Ability to stand for long shifts, bend, and lift heavy materials (frequently up to 50 lbs).
- Basic Skills: Comfort with basic hand tools and mechanical equipment.
- Safety Consciousness: Willingness to follow strict plant safety standards regarding high-pressure testing.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent (typically required).
