Staff Accountant
Job Description
Job Title: Staff Accountant Location: York, PA Type: Direct Hire Work Model: Onsite
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day accounting operations related to OEM manufacturing activities, including accurate financial transaction processing, maintaining accounting records, and assisting with month-end close, inventory accounting, and project-based revenue tracking.
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and standard recurring entries.
- Maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy of financial data.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances.
- Support accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor reconciliations, collections follow-up, and cash applications.
- Support accounting for customer-specific equipment builds and engineered-to-order projects, tracking costs, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition.
- Assist in inventory accounting, cycle counts, physical inventory adjustments, standard cost updates, and reconcile inventory subledger to general ledger.
- Prepare supporting schedules for internal financial reporting packages and assist in variance analysis for manufacturing costs and project margins.
- Support audit requests and ensure adherence to policies, GAAP standards, and internal controls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 0–3 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Epicor, Oracle, Infor Visual 9) required; Infor Visual 9 ERP highly desired.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, job costing, project accounting, inventory accounting, and manufacturing cost structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills across finance and operations teams.
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments, with occasional site visits and safety awareness.
