A top-tier North Carolina boutique law firm is seeking a skilled Commercial Real Estate & Litigation Paralegal for its Raleigh, Greensboro or Charlotte offices. Handling sophisticated matters for Fortune 500 clients, this role offers an exceptional platform to apply both commercial transactional and high-stakes litigation expertise across commercial real estate, construction disputes, and bankruptcy cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Transactional Management: Oversee commercial closings and large-scale loans; draft deeds, deeds of trust, settlement statements, UCC filings, lease memoranda, and ancillary closing documents.
- Title & Survey Examination: Abstract and search real property titles, review title commitments and exception documents, analyze land surveys, zoning reports, and environmental assessments.
- Litigation Support: Support all phases of business, construction, and bankruptcy litigation; prepare pleadings, affidavits, motions, discovery requests, trial exhibit lists, and deposition materials.
- Court & Agency Filings: Execute electronic court filings across North Carolina State Courts, Federal District Courts, the NC Business Court, appellate courts, and local zoning authorities.
- E-Discovery & Document Control: Direct electronic discovery processing, document productions, bates stamping, evidence indexing, and maintain complex digital document systems.
- Docket & Due Diligence Tracking: Maintain transaction and litigation dockets, track statutory deadlines, coordinate municipal/court communications, and handle cite-checking/proofreading.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Substantial paralegal experience managing both commercial real estate transactions and civil litigation matters within a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Practice Expertise: Proven proficiency in real estate title abstracting, real estate finance closing workflows, construction litigation, and bankruptcy proceedings.
- Technical Proficiency: Mastery of e-filing systems (CM/ECF, NC Business Court portal), e-discovery platforms, MS Office Suite, and paperless file management databases.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree and/or North Carolina Certified Paralegal (NCCP) designation highly preferred.
