Allegria Village is a premier senior living community in Dearborn, MI, offering Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, and Rehabilitation services—all on one campus. We are committed to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable Floor Care / Porter for our Rehabilitation Building, which includes both Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing areas.

Shift: 2pm-10pm/full-time

Position Overview:

As a Floor Care / Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of floors and common areas throughout our Rehabilitation building. This role plays a key part in infection prevention, safety, and ensuring a pleasant environment for residents, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily and scheduled cleaning of floors (sweeping, mopping, buffing, and waxing) in resident rooms, hallways, dining areas, and other common spaces

  • Operate floor care equipment safely and effectively (buffers, auto-scrubbers, etc.)

  • Empty trash, replace liners, and assist with removal of bulk waste

  • Respond to housekeeping requests and incidents promptly

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of utility and storage areas

  • Assist with light maintenance or setup tasks as needed (e.g., moving furniture, room setups)

  • Follow all infection control, safety, and sanitation policies and procedures

  • Communicate any maintenance or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Prior experience in floor care, housekeeping, or environmental services (preferably in a healthcare or senior living setting)

  • Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment

  • Dependable and punctual with strong attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with residents and staff

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
