Overview
Prepare, review, and distribute estimates for various customers and projects.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Acknowledge, greet, and assist customers in a timely and professional manner
- Handle telephone and electronic inquiries efficiently and effectively
- Identify the needs and provide the appropriate level of assistance to the customer
- Effectively research and resolve customer complaints and conflicts
Sales Skills
- Understand the marketplace
- Know product features
- Work to meet prospect customers’ needs
- Effective suggestive and upgrade selling and add on sales
- Effective closing technique
- Quote follow up- quote to order conversion
- Develop a continuous business relationship with our customers and vendors
- Share expertise with others
Estimating
- Estimate quantities of material to be purchased.
- Keep open lines of communication with salesperson and customer.
- Uses expert judgment to interpret codes & standards, design processes, specifications, and drawings.
- Interpret scope of work statements, specifications, drawing conflicts, ambiguities, and uncertainties.
- Advises and collects information from other departments on any items pertinent to the development of complete estimates.
- Ensure estimates are completed within the required timeframe.
- Contact suppliers and vendors for current prices.
- Notify customer of discrepancies or error in plans.
- Visit job sites to gather information as required in order to perform estimates.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. 2-3 years of industry and/or estimating experience preferred.
- Language Ability: Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with individuals inside and outside of the company
- Math Ability: Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem solving skills to analyze customer needs and to recommend the proper course of action.
- Computer Skills: Proficient keyboard and computer skills including Microsoft office and other Company and discipline specific software applications
