ABA Therapist (Applied Behavior Analysis Therapist)

Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Reports To: Director of Clinical Services

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated ABA Therapist to join our team. The ABA Therapist will provide one-on-one behavioral therapy to children and/or adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The ideal candidate is passionate about helping individuals reach their fullest potential through evidence-based behavioral interventions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising BCBA.
  • Provide direct one-on-one ABA therapy in home, clinic, school, or community settings.
  • Teach communication, social, daily living, academic, and behavioral skills using ABA principles.
  • Collect accurate data during therapy sessions and maintain detailed documentation.
  • Monitor client progress and communicate observations to the supervising BCBA.
  • Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and reinforcement strategies.
  • Assist with reducing challenging behaviors using positive behavior support techniques.
  • Maintain a safe, engaging, and supportive therapeutic environment.
  • Collaborate with families and caregivers by modeling intervention techniques and providing support as directed.
  • Attend team meetings, supervision sessions, and required training.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow company policies, ethical standards, and all applicable state and federal regulations.
QualificationsRequired:
  • High school diploma or GED (Bachelor's degree preferred in Psychology, Education, Social Work, Behavioral Science, or related field).
  • Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional in challenging situations.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (if travel is required).
  • Ability to pass background screening and drug testing.
Preferred:
  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Previous ABA therapy experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of Applied Behavior Analysis principles.
  • Excellent observation and data collection skills.
  • Ability to follow treatment plans with consistency and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with supervisors.
  • Compassionate, energetic, and positive attitude.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and families.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, squat, and move quickly during therapy sessions.
  • Ability to lift and/or assist clients weighing up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Ability to actively engage in play-based and therapeutic activities.
  • Ability to respond quickly to behavioral or safety situations.
