Outpatient Pharmacy Supervisor, Part-time
Job Description
1. Education: Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy with a five year Baccalaureate degree or a six year Doctor of Pharmacy Degree. Maintains a current license and continuing education credits required in the state of Arkansas.
2. Training and Experience: Previous hospital and/or retail experience as an intern or pharmacist preferred. Understanding of overall pharmacy operations. Requires initiative, good character and the ability to assume responsibilities.
3. Job Knowledge: Understanding the functions required to provide pharmaceuticals to outpatient associates and their families. Delivers appropriate care to patients from neonatal through geriatrics with regards to age specific considerations. Stays current by various methods, which may include professional journals, in-services and professional meetings. Utilizes drug information to improve the quality of care for our patients

DESCRIPTION:
Supervises the technician(s) in daily functions allowed by the State Board of Pharmacy. Compounds, properly labels, and dispenses medications needed on an outpatient basis. Reviews prescriptions for drug interactions and any possible dosage errors. Responsible for the purchase of all medications and supplies. Prepares and maintains records and performs related work as required. Strictly complies with all HIPAA laws and guidelines. All other duties as outlined and/or required. Also, responsible for maintaining pharmacy hours and staffing to adequately meet the needs of the community.
Physical Effort: Maintains good physical well-being. Job requires standing, sitting, and walking for long periods of time and lifting boxes weighing as much as 40 pounds.
