About The Company:

Our client is an established energy organization supporting crude oil purchasing and marketing operations. The company offers a collaborative environment, long-term stability, and the opportunity to lead a key function responsible for ownership accuracy and timely payments.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Division Order / Land Supervisor to lead the day-to-day activities of a small division order team. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate crude oil ownership and Division of Interest records, resolving title and payment discrepancies, and ensuring royalty owners and other stakeholders are paid correctly and on time.

This position requires direct first-purchaser crude oil experience and is best suited for someone who understands Division Order processes from the purchaser side rather than solely from an E&P/operator environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily Division Order and Land activities while providing guidance and support to department personnel.
  • Establish, maintain, and validate Division of Interest records associated with crude oil purchases.
  • Review title opinions, deeds, assignments, trusts, wills, mergers, and other ownership documentation.
  • Research ownership discrepancies and resolve issues that could impact revenue or royalty payments.
  • Communicate with royalty owners, operators, attorneys, land professionals, accounting teams, purchasers, and other stakeholders.
  • Investigate payment inquiries and ensure outstanding ownership issues are followed through to resolution.
  • Monitor ownership changes and coordinate updates to division orders and related records.
  • Assist with unclaimed property research and reporting requirements.
  • Train and mentor team members while ensuring consistency and accuracy across department processes.
  • Partner closely with crude oil marketing and accounting teams to support accurate and timely payments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, controls, documentation, and overall department efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3–5+ years of Division Order, Land, or related crude oil experience preferred.
  • First-purchaser Division Order experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of crude oil ownership, royalty interests, Division of Interest records, and payment processes.
  • Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred; experienced lead-level candidates with demonstrated leadership capabilities may be considered.
  • Experience interpreting title and ownership documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Experience with WolfePak or a similar oil and gas accounting/land system is preferred.

Additional Details:

  • Position will initially lead a team of two Division Order administrators/analysts.
  • Company-paid parking is provided.
  • The organization is planning a future office relocation within the Houston/Galleria area.
  • Interview process includes an initial virtual interview followed by an onsite meeting with leadership and team members.
  • Candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
