What you’ll do


Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pickup truck and rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Support Technical Center Workshop activities related to vehicle build, rework, and validation with a focus on Automotive Body systems, including Body-in-White (BIW) and paint-related components.
  • Perform hands-on body assembly, disassembly, and rework activities, including installation of special body parts and support of potential body modifications for prototype, pre-series, and development vehicles.
  • Perform metal work and part rework activities, including alignment correction, fit adjustment, and refinement of body components to meet dimensional, fit, and functional requirements.
  • Support spot welding and other joining processes as required for body repairs, modifications, or validation activities.
  • Perform initial vehicle or body-related diagnostics and root cause analysis for reported issues and document findings in appropriate systems.
  • Repair or modify body components and assemblies, including replacement or rework of damaged or non-conforming parts.
  • Support installation and removal of vehicle measurement equipment or fixtures used for body validation and analysis as required.
  • Perform short functional or validation drives, where applicable, to verify body repairs, updates, or modifications.
  • Read, interpret, and follow body repair procedures, joining instructions, assembly documentation, and hardware retrofit instructions.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle and body work records by documenting rework actions, repairs, and modifications in designated documentation tools.
  • Support training and onboarding of new team members on body rework, metal work, documentation, and troubleshooting processes as needed.
  • Participate in daily workshop team meetings and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and test teams to support development, build readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

What you’ll bring


We expect all Scouts to demonstrate integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, and a positive, growth-oriented mindset. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and collaborating across teams to achieve shared goals. In addition, you’ll bring:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in automotive production, body repair, BIW, or paint-related work.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Automotive Body systems, including BIW components, body panels, and structural parts.
  • Experience with metal work, part rework, alignment correction, and fit adjustments.
  • Familiarity with spot welding or similar joining processes used in body repair or modification.
  • Ability to read and follow body repair procedures, assembly instructions, and retrofit documentation.
  • Ability to interpret measurement results using both online and off-line systems.
  • Experience working in a workshop, prototype, pre-series, or manufacturing environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles for functional verification where applicable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Preferred Qualifications


A successful candidate may also have:

  • Certificate in Automotive Technology, Collision Repair, or a related field.
  • State mechanic or body repair certification(s).
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production facility.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dimensional measurement systems and body alignment processes.
  • Familiarity with vehicle communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
  • Experience working with Hybrid/Electric (EV) vehicles and HV systems.

Location & Travel Expectations


The responsibilities of this role require daily attendance at in-person meetings and hands-on workshop activities. The role will be based at a Scout Motors Production Technical Center location in Blythewood, South Carolina. Occasional travel may be required to support vehicle builds, test events, or company activities.
