OVERVIEW:

The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates all human resource processes. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations. Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions

· Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions

· Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files

· Submits online investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.

· Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.

· Assists with processing of terminations

· Assists with the preparation of the performance review process

· Assists with recruitment and interview process

· Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process

· Schedules meetings and interviews as requested by the Human Resources Manager

· Makes copies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions

· Files documents into appropriate employee files

· Prepares new-employee files

· Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations

· Monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary

· Communicates benefits information to employees

· Interviews, screens and recruits job applicants to fill entry-level, professional and technical job openings

· Conducts new hire orientations

· Maintains good working relationship with union officials and adheres to terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions

· Distributes and monitors employee performance evaluations and ensures they are done in a timely manner

· Maintains human resource information system

· Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations

· Reports, maintains and monitors all workers' compensation case files

· Maintains and processes all unemployment notices and potential charges

· Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field

· Working understanding of human resource principles, practices and procedures

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

· 1 year of experience in Human Resources

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· This position has no supervisory responsibilities

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· This job operates in a professional office environment.

· This role routinely uses standard office equipment
