School Speech Language Pathologist - Portage, Indiana
Job Description
Make a difference in the lives of students near Portage, IN by supporting their communication goals in a contract Speech-Language Pathologist role. Multiple full-time opportunities are available across elementary and intermediate school settings for the 2026/2027 school year. Certified SLPs (CCC preferred; no SLPA roles at this time) are encouraged to apply—traveling SLPs are welcome.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current ASHA CCC-SLP preferred
- Indiana state licensure, or eligibility for licensure, as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Previous experience in school settings ideal
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Flexibility and resourcefulness to adapt across grade levels
Responsibilities:
- Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services for students in PreK through middle school as assigned
- Develop and implement IEP goals and speech therapy plans individually and in groups
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with school and state standards
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure continuity of care
- Supervise or partner with Speech-Language Assistants as available or required
- Flexible scheduling options with a 7-hour workday and 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Caseloads range from 70–100 students, with potential for SLA support
