Join our expanding Pediatric Epilepsy team where your nursing expertise makes a meaningful difference in the lives of children and their families.

In addition to our established nine-bed Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, we are opening a new 15-bed Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in our new Neurological Building, with continued growth planned for the future. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced nurses to join a highly specialized team and help shape a new unit while expanding their clinical expertise.

Our team provides comprehensive care for children with epilepsy and complex seizure disorders using state-of-the-art video-EEG technology. Nurses collaborate with physicians, EEG technologists, advanced practice providers, and other specialists to provide highly coordinated care for children with a wide range of neurological needs, including those who may be candidates for epilepsy surgery.

We are looking for experienced nurses who are eager to bring their clinical knowledge to a highly specialized setting and grow their expertise in pediatric epilepsy. You’ll learn from an experienced team, develop new skills, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. Schedule

    Full-time position

    Hours: 7:00 am - 7:30 pm and 7:00 pm - 7:30 am

  • \n
  • \n

    Day/night rotation (6 weeks at a time)

  • \n
  • \n

    Includes shared participation in weekend rotation and holiday coverage

  • \n
\n

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Provide direct nursing care to patients with epilepsy and complex medical needs.

  • \n
  • \n

    Implement, monitor, evaluate, update, and revise patient care plans.

  • \n
  • \n

    Monitor, record, document, and communicate patients’ conditions and responses to treatment.

  • \n
  • \n

    Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

  • \n
  • \n

    Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

  • \n
  • \n

    Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care.

  • \n
  • \n

    Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.

  • \n
  • \n

    Educate patients and their families regarding care, treatment, medications, and ongoing needs.

  • \n
  • \n

    Develop knowledge and skills in epilepsy and neurological nursing care.

  • \n
\n

\n

Minimum qualifications for the ideal caregiver include:

\n
    \n
  • \n

    Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program)

  • \n
  • \n

    Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • \n
  • \n

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

  • \n
  • \n

    One year of current acute care RN experience. Military RN experience will be considered

  • \n
\n


Preferred qualifications for the ideal candidate include:

    Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • \n
  • \n

    Pediatric nursing experience

  • \n
  • \n

    Experience caring for patients with epilepsy, neurological conditions, or complex medical needs

  • \n
  • \n

    Experience working in a multidisciplinary care environment

  • \n
\n

\n

Physical Requirements:

  • \n

    Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

  • \n
  • \n

    Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.

  • \n
  • \n

    Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

  • \n
  • \n

    Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours.

  • \n
  • \n

    Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

  • \n
  • \n

    Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • \n
  • \n

    Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

  • \n
\n

Pay Range

\n

\n

Minimum hourly: $35.50

\n

\n

Maximum hourly: $55.60

\n

A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
