Industrial Maintenance Technician / Millwright
Location: Osceola, AR
Marathon Staffing is hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician / Millwright to support the installation, alignment, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and long-term reliability of a custom slitting line and related industrial production equipment.
This is a hands-on, technical role—ideal for experienced mechanical professionals who enjoy bringing complex manufacturing equipment online and solving real startup challenges.
What You’ll Do
- Support installation, assembly, alignment, startup, and commissioning of a custom slitting line and related production equipment
- Install, assemble, align, and commission industrial production machinery
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and equipment performance issues
- Diagnose and repair motors, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, drives, and power transmission systems
- Perform precision alignment, calibration verification, and mechanical adjustments during installation and startup
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, installation layouts, OEM manuals, and technical documentation
- Identify equipment issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
- Support modifications, upgrades, expansions, and continuous improvement projects
- Develop and execute preventive maintenance strategies to improve reliability and reduce downtime
- Document repairs, downtime causes, maintenance activities, startup issues, and equipment modifications
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, production personnel, and leadership during installation and startup
- Follow Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding requirements, electrical safety practices, and PPE requirements
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of industrial maintenance, millwright, industrial mechanic, machinery installation, maintenance mechanic, or manufacturing maintenance experience
- Proven experience installing and commissioning industrial machinery
- Proven experience supporting equipment startup, line integration, or production equipment installation projects
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting experience in industrial production equipment
- Advanced knowledge of motors, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, drives, and power transmission systems
- Experience working on industrial production equipment, processing/converting equipment, or manufacturing machinery
- Ability to read blueprints, installation drawings, engineering schematics, and OEM documentation
- Ability to independently diagnose equipment failures, determine corrective actions, and execute repairs
- Strong understanding of industrial safety requirements and Lockout/Tagout procedures
- Ability to prioritize technical work, solve problems independently, and support critical manufacturing operations
Highly Desirable (Nice to Have)
- Slitting equipment installation, startup, troubleshooting, or maintenance
- Coil processing equipment
- Steel processing, metals manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments
- Precision machinery alignment
- PLC troubleshooting, VFD troubleshooting, and industrial controls troubleshooting
- Welding and fabrication
- Reliability-centered maintenance, root cause failure analysis
- CMMS and preventive maintenance systems
