Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support a growing workforce in California. This role is ideal for someone who can manage day-to-day HR operations with confidence, communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, and apply California employment practices consistently. The position works across payroll, employee relations, compliance, benefits, and recruitment while helping maintain clear standards in a hands-on work environment.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily human resources activities, including employee support, policy guidance, and routine HR administration for a workforce of approximately 50 to 60 employees.
• Process payroll accurately using ADP systems, review time records for discrepancies, and help ensure timely and compliant wage administration.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities, including new employee documentation, orientation steps, and separation paperwork.
• Administer benefits and employee leave programs while answering questions and supporting compliance with applicable California requirements.
• Address employee relations matters professionally, reinforce workplace expectations, and apply company policies consistently and fairly.
• Support safety-related HR processes, including workers’ compensation coordination, claim follow-up, and documentation management.
• Assist with recruitment activities such as posting openings, screening candidates, and helping managers move candidates through the selection process.
• Maintain HR records and HRIS data with accuracy, and partner with external HR consultants when specialized guidance is needed.

• At least 2 years of human resources experience, with 3 to 5 years in a broad HR generalist capacity strongly preferred.

• Conversational bilingual ability in English and Spanish, with the confidence to communicate clearly with Spanish-speaking employees.

• Experience handling payroll for a small to mid-sized employee population using ADP or ADP Workforce Now.

• Working knowledge of California labor regulations, wage and hour practices, leave administration, and core HR compliance requirements.

• Background supporting employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, and general HR operations.

• Ability to work effectively in a hands-on, blue-collar environment and interact well with field and operational employees.

• Confidence to uphold policies, address inappropriate conduct, and make sound decisions with professionalism.

• HR certification is preferred.
