As a valued member of a collaborative special education team, you’ll provide speech and language services tailored to individual student needs, helping them boost communication skills and confidence in the classroom.
Qualifications:
- Valid Florida SLP license (required)
- Experience or interest in both pediatric and school-based caseloads
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred; clinical fellows (CFY) encouraged to apply
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities
- Skilled at collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students’ speech, language, and communication abilities using standardized tools
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in accordance with IEP goals
- Deliver effective, evidence-based therapy in group and one-on-one sessions across K-12
- Document progress and maintain accurate records aligned with school and state guidelines
- Work alongside multidisciplinary teams in IEP meetings and provide input for goal-setting
- Educate and collaborate with families and educators to generalize strategies beyond therapy
